Cosmo Choi, a political aspirant, has officially declared his intentions to contest for the Embakasi East parliamentary seat in the 2027 general elections. Addressing his supporters, Choi urged residents to register their political party cards early, signalling that he is already mobilising grassroots support.
“Watu wangu wa Embakasi East constituency, tuchukue kadi mapema ndiyo mkue kadi for me… I am coming to take that seat from Babu Owino in 2027, be ready for me. Message approved, 100%,” Choi stated, highlighting his determination to challenge the incumbent MP, Babu Owino.
Choi’s announcement reflects a growing trend in Kenyan politics where emerging leaders actively campaign and build support well ahead of the election cycle. By urging early political registration, he seeks to ensure that his backing base is strong and organised from the outset. The move sets the stage for what promises to be a high-profile and competitive race in Embakasi East, a constituency that has previously attracted significant media and public attention.
This early declaration underscores Choi’s strategic approach to elections, emphasising preparation, mobilisation, and direct engagement with voters as key components of his campaign strategy.
