Edwin Sifuna has delivered a fiery statement, signaling rising political tension ahead of planned engagements in Kisumu.
In his remarks, Sifuna declared that after their activities in Nakuru, they will proceed to Kisumu for a rally, emphasizing that they will not be intimidated. He framed the situation as a matter of democratic freedom, insisting that political groups should be allowed to operate independently without interference or threats.
The senator also drew a sharp line between opposing factions, contrasting the “Linda Mwananchi” movement with what he referred to as “Linda Tumbo,” suggesting a growing ideological and political divide. His message underscores a refusal to align with rival positions, reinforcing his stance on political independence.
While the statement reflects strong resolve, it also highlights escalating rhetoric in Kenya’s political space. Calls for rallies amid tensions raise concerns about potential confrontations, making it increasingly important for leaders and supporters to maintain calm and prioritize peaceful engagement.
As the situation develops, attention will be on how political actors manage their differences, especially in regions with strong political identities like Kisumu.
