Embakasi East MP Paul “Babu” Owino has claimed he is banned from entering both Tanzania and Uganda, saying he was deported after attempts to enter those countries.
The outspoken legislator said he will organize protests — including road blockades — to stop visiting leaders from the two nations from entering Kenya via Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), which lies within his constituency.
In his fiery remarks, Babu Owino stated that Presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda and Samia Suluhu of Tanzania “don’t want to see me,” yet he insists they should show respect for Kenyans and Kenyan leaders when they visit.
“I am prohibited from traveling to Tanzania and Uganda. I was deported after entering both nations because Museveni and Suluhu don’t want to see me, yet they want to come to Kenya through JKIA located in my constituency. On one of their visits, I will organize protests to block the roads and chase them back to their countries. They have to show respect for Kenyans and our leaders who visit their countries,” said Babu Owino.
The MP’s comments have sparked mixed reactions, with some of his supporters hailing his boldness, while critics argue his statements could strain diplomatic relations between Kenya and its neighbours.
